For the last 20 years, Kevin Starbard has been studying and practicing Eastern spirituality and healing arts.
From 1989-1991, Kevin lived at Toshoji Zen Temple in Japan, receiving the Buddhist name of Gosan Taido (Enlightened Mountain, Peaceful Way) from Ban Tetsugyu Roshi.
He has studied Feng Shui in the GEO (Geomancy/Feng Shui Education Organization) three year professional training program, and has taught Feng Shui at health centers, health food stores, bookstores and colleges over the last ten years.
Kevin also received certification in shiatsu and massage from the International School of Massage Therapy in San Francisco, and from the Iokai Shiatsu Center in Tokyo, Japan. For the last four years, he has been studying Thai Massage with Kam Thye Chow of the Lotus Palm School. He has practiced shiatsu at Tassajara Zen Center and San Francisco Zen Center in California. He is currently a massage therapist at Spa Terme Di Aroma in Philadelphia, and the Yoga Center of Medford.
Kevin also began QiGong training 12 years ago with Master Faxiang Hou, and has taken classes over the years with various teachers. He currently teaches a weekly class at the Philadelphia Senior Center and the Tioga Senior Center. Kevin makes QiGong easily understandable for the young and senior student alike. |
