Many traditional cultures have a ceremony to bless a new home. Although it is most appropriate to be done when moving into a new space, it is never too late to bless and honor the places where you spend your life.

In the Tibetan Black Sect tradition of Feng Shui, a site blessing ceremony is used to dispel negative energy, sow seeds of auspiciousness into the new space, and to raise the chi, or energy, of the home or workplace. This is accompanied by a visualization to insure the well being, happiness and good fortune to all who may reside or work there.

Payment for a site blessing is given in 9 red envelopes, which is the traditional way of honoring a teacher in the Chinese tradition. Click the envelope for more info on the Red Envelope Tradition.
